My Process: From Inquiry to Reveal!

What’s a photo session with me like? Wonder what the process is like from inquiry to reveal? Well, grab a cup of tea and let me share with you for a few minutes! 

First, the process has changed a little bit since I first started. In March, I redesigned my business to give my clients a more full-service experience. I added more one-on-one attention before the shoot and also included prints and other products in options afterward. 

Clients were telling me that digitals were sitting on their hard drives for one to two years, and I wanted a way to fix that! I want you to enjoy these images! Additionally, if I am totally honest, I also realized that the cost of photography outweighed what was coming in. I had to revamp and redesign so that it was a win-win for my clients and for me. 

So let’s take a look at the process now! 

Chat!

Our first step is to chat on the phone or over email. I want to hear what you are looking for in your session and make sure I am the right fit for you. We will also talk about timeline and availability. Once we’ve decided I’m the right fit for you, we get to book your session! I will collect a $75 deposit from you to hold your spot on the calendar, and then I will send you a welcome guide and contract.

Consult!

Next we get to schedule your virtual consultation. During our time together over Zoom or Facetime, we will discuss location, tips, wardrobe, posing, and any questions you have. We will also take time to explore the Collections and which products and packages fit your family best. It’s always fun to design a session together!

Shoot!

The day is finally here, and it’s time to have fun! Leave the worries to me; I will help guide your session every step of the way. From posing to smiles, I’ve got you covered! During your shoot, my goal is to create classic, authentic images that you will have for a lifetime. 

Reveal!

Within two weeks of your session, we will schedule a time for your reveal. During our in-person meeting, we’ll watch your reveal video and then look at your gallery together. Next, you’ll get to choose your favorite images from the shoot. Once we’ve done that, it will be time to choose your Collection and decide on legacy prints, digitals, canvases, framed prints, and albums (these items are not included in your session fee). I will have examples on hand so that you can see the print sizes, thumb through an album, and look at the framing quality. 

Delivery!

Once you’ve picked your Collection and decided on your prints, framed wall art, and/or album, I will order it all for you and then deliver it as soon as it comes in. I have a wonderful lab I trust that gets items to me quickly – sometimes overnight! So you will have your items within three weeks of your shoot most of the time. 

So far, clients have loved my new approach, and so do I. It is much more rewarding to be able to sit down with families or seniors two weeks after the shoot and share images face to face. I always have Kleenex available!
