Alaina & Matt’s Purdue Grad Session

Wow, what a busy college grad season it was this spring! I photographed so many wonderful Purdue and Ball State seniors, and as always I count it a privilege to capture their grad photos!

A couple of those grads were Alaina and Matt! Alaina contacted me in April, and we worked together to design a grad session for her and Matt. During their virtual consultation, I got to know them better and also heard about their favorite spots around campus.

They had a beautiful May night for their session, and wow, I got some shots of Alaina that were so beautiful in the golden light. Gotta love how the Engineering Fountain reflects all that gold!

We got lucky with one of Matt’s shots and the Boiler Express passed through the background. Perfect timing!

While I try to shoot clients with Purdue’s iconic spots in mind, I also like to find nooks and crannies that provide something a little different. For Alaina and Matt’s shoot, the flowering trees on campus were in full bloom, so I took advantage! I watched for blooms that would frame Alaina’s face, and once we found some, I asked Alaina to quickly step in so we could get some photos. It turned out to be one of my favorite shots of her.

Alaina and Matt truly were so much fun (and such a cute couple)!

Thankfully, I got to see them one more time at their reveal appointment. They were super pleased with their images and found a collection that worked for both of them and their families.  They are off to new adventures and I wish them the very best!
